Welcome to St. Joseph, the Worker Ltd.

St. Joseph, the Worker Ltd. is a unity of people coming together from various countries to help destitute widows of the wars in Bosnia & Hercegovina. It is a humanitarian organization incorporated in the State of New York, and is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) "not for profit" organization. The organization recognizes, assists and aids people in need in the Balkan regions, focusing on the regions of Bosnia and Hercegovina. St. Joseph, the Worker LTD is registered in Sarajevo, B/H as an International Humanitarian Organization. The organization has assisted people in the Bosnia/Hercegovina region since 1992.

Sister Muriel Geisler, an 80 year old Roman Catholic nun, and Mary Walsh are the founding Directors of St. Joseph, the Worker Ltd. They and visiting volunteers travel to over 90 villages and assist families in over 300 homes. St Joseph, the Worker Ltd. serves all in need: Serbs, Croats and Muslims.

Sister Muriel and her volunteers deliver food and hygienic supplies to destitute elderly. During the summer months St. Joseph, the Worker volunteers repair and renovate many homes. When needed, they provide stoves and refrigerators. During the winter months they purchase and deliver wood

We have 26 residents living in the home. They have enjoyed the security of living in the home this past winter. They did not have to worry about running out of wood, water freezing and lack of food. The residents pray and knit together. They sing, laugh and just enjoy each others company. When the pilgrims come to the Home to celebrate Mass with the residents, it is a wonderful experience for all...
